Struggle for SPN Registration: Oyo SPN Holds Public Action

 The Oyo State Chapter of the Socialist Party of Nigeria (SPN) held a public action at Sango-Poly Junction Ibadan on Sunday December 7 to formally launch the campaign for the registration of SPN. The INEC has refused to register the party despite it fulfilling all the legal and constitutional requirements for registration of political parties . The undemocratic action of INEC has been challenged in court. The case is coming up for hearing on January 28 at the Federal High Court Abuja. Hundreds of copies of the campaign leaflet were circulated and there was a stall with SPN and DSM materials. Three persons indicated interest to join the SPN while one copy of SD was sold. Thirteen (13) members of the party participated in the action.
