STATEMENT
On Thursday June 12,
2014 the Socialist Party of Nigeria (SPN), submitted its application for
registration at the INEC office in Abuja. Hitherto the SPN has received a
letter from INEC with Re: INEC/EPM/563/1/20 on the 14th day of
April, 2014. Below is the copy of the INEC letter.
In
full compliance of the request made by the INEC in the aforementioned letter,
the Socialist Party of Nigeria (SPN) submitted the following documents to INEC
on Thursday 12th of June 2014:
(a) 50
copies of the Tenancy Agreement of the headquarters of the Socialist Party of
Nigeria (SPN) at No 42, Adetokunbo Ademola Street, Wuse II, Abuja.
(b) 50
copies of the Constitution of the Socialist Party of Nigeria (SPN). the
(c) 50
copies of the Manifesto of the Socialist Party of Nigeria (SPN).
(d) 50
copies of the official receipt issued to the Socialist Party of Nigeria (SPN)
by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) after payment of
N1,000,000.00 (One Million Naira) Application/Processing fee.
(e) 50
copies of the affidavit by the National Chairperson and the National Secretary
of the Socialist Party of Nigeria (SPN) in support of the claims in form PA1.
(f) 50
copies of the logo of the Socialist Party of Nigeria (SPN) affixed to the 50
copies of form PA1.
(g) 50
copies of the flag of Socialist Party of Nigeria (SPN).
(h) 50
copies of forms PA1 duly filled and signed by 27 members of the National
Executive Committee (NEC) of the Socialist Party of Nigeria (SPN), cutting
across 24 states plus Abuja.
Our
application was received on behalf of INEC by Mr. P.A Enuke, AD/PR.
We
call on workers, youths, students and the generality of the poor Nigerians that
have been economically and politically shortchanged by all the capitalist
ruling parties and the Nigerian ruling elite to join and help to build this
party that can provide a formidable platform that can deepen the struggle for
better living conditions of Nigerians and to contest and challenge all the
capitalist parties come 2015 general elections and thereafter.
